[UPDATED] Four hospitalised by transformer blaze in Sg Way industrial zone

Transformer has been razed, with fire reportedly spreading to nearby building

KUALA LUMPUR – An electrical transformer room at the Sg Way Free Trade Industrial Zone has been reduced to ashes by a raging fire. 

In an initial report by the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department’s operations centre, authorities were alerted to the incident at 5.53pm.

Its forces deployed to extinguish the fire arrived on scene at 6.07pm, along with two FRT trucks from the Petaling Jaya and Subang Jaya fire and rescue stations. 

The blaze is said to have spread to the building structure beside the transformer room as firefighters continue to control its escalation. 

Four people were injured in the fire and have been sent to Shah Alam Hospital for treatment. – December 31, 2023
