KUALA LUMPUR – Sg Jemaluang in Kluang has overflowed due to the heavy rain, cutting off access to parts of the road of the same name that link the district to Mersing in Johor.

Several vehicles were also stranded as waters rose earlier.

JKR Mersing shared on Facebook that parts of Jalan Jemaluang are inundated and temporarily closed until the water recedes.

Meanwhile, community page Kluang Hari Ini posted that a car stuck in Jalan Jemaluang was flooded.

Users also shared that Jalan Kota Tinggi-Mersing is inundated and cautioned motorists to drive slowly.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department issued an alert this afternoon warning that thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds will continue in eight locations – Segamat, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Mersing, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru – in the state. – December 31, 2023
