KLANG — Celebrity preacher, Azman Syah Alias, better known as PU Azman, was ordered to defend himself after the Sessions Court, here, ruled that the prosecution successfully proved a prima facie case against him on two charges of physically sexually abusing a 17-year-old boy.
During court proceedings, today, Sessions judge, Syafeera Mohd Said provided three options to Azman, 42: he could either testify under oath from the witness stand, testify without taking an oath as the accused, or remain silent.
Azman chose to testify under oath.
Based on the charges, Azman on February 20 last year, at 12.15am at the AK Pine Homestay, No 54, Jalan Sungai Udang /KS3, allegedly committed physical sexual assault on a 17-year-old boy.
He was also accused of committing the same act on June 29 at 1am at the same location, an offense punishable under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offenses Against Children Act 2017.
The court then set January 12, 2024 for mention.
In addition, to these charges Azman also faces nine more charges, five in the Seremban Sessions Court, two cases in the Shah Alam Court and one case each in the Klang Magistrate’s Court and the Ampang Sessions Court respectively. — December 26, 2023
