KUANTAN – A housewife and her two children were killed when the car they were travelling in collided with a trailer at KM17 of Jalan Lipis-Benta in Penjom, near Kuala Lipis, early today.

Kuala Lipis district police chief Azli Mohd Noor said that in the 2.25am incident, the victims, who were in a Perodua Alza, died at the scene due to serious head and bodily injuries.

They were Nor Faizah Ridzuan, 34, of Kok Lanas, Kelantan, and her two sons, 10-year-old Muhammad Hariz Adrian Mohd Azman and 3-year-old Muhammad Hafiy Azman.

“The incident is believed to have occurred when she lost control of the car when navigating a bend, causing it to enter the opposite lane and collide with the trailer.

“The collision caused the car to be dragged by the trailer and crash into a metal road barrier,” he said in a statement today.

Azli said the victims were believed to be on their way to Kelantan from Kuala Lumpur, adding that the 48-year-old trailer driver was not injured in the incident.

The bodies of the three victims were taken to Kuala Lipis Hospital for post-mortem and the investigation is being carried out under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. – December 15, 2023
