PUTRAJAYA – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will be unveiling a revised cabinet line-up today at 11am.
He said while his cabinet will remain smaller than the previous administration, more members will be added to the existing line-up today.
He told reporters this after attending the monthly assembly at the Finance Ministry here.
He also hinted that he would be transferring his tasks and responsibilities but did not provide more details.
“There will be a press conference at 11am today.
“There is a slight increase (in cabinet size) but smaller compared to the previous administration.”
Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah is expected to grace the presentation of the instruments of appointment and the swearing-in of the new ministers at Istana Negara at 2.30pm today.
It has been widely speculated that the reshuffle could see the return of a few former ministers.
So far, the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry is without a minister following the death of Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub on July 23 this year.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah, Sarawak Affairs and Special Functions) Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali has been the acting domestic trade minister.
The unity cabinet that was formed last December after the 2022 general election started with 28 ministers. – December 12, 2023
