KUALA LUMPUR – The Social Security Organisation’s (Socso) website has allegedly been hacked after a BreachForums user claimed on December 5 that personal data has been breached.

The Personal Data Protection Department has taken note of the allegations and is taking appropriate action, said a spokesperson for the Communications and Digital Ministry in a message in its media WhatsApp group.

The Star also reported that Socso is aware of the claims and will be releasing a statement on the matter.

It was reported that a snapshot of the “leaked” data were names, addresses, payment methods and mobile numbers.

The user also claimed that more will be made available in the next 72 hours from December 5.

The following day, the same user shared a YouTube link claiming to be a recording of a meeting with Socso. – December 8, 2023
