KUALA LUMPUR – Several areas in Johor and Negri Sembilan recorded unhealthy Air Pollution Index (API) readings from 9 this morning.
As at 6pm today, the highest API records from this morning were in two areas in Johor, namely Pasir Gudang at 152, followed by Larkin at 156, according to the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System website.
API readings are categorised as 0-50 (good), 51-100 (moderate) and 101-200 (unhealthy).
Meanwhile, 55 areas across the country recorded moderate API levels, especially in the Klang Valley which has seen unhealthy levels over the past few days.
The same data also shows that only 10 areas in the peninsula recorded good API levels.
From midday onwards, five areas including Nilai in Negri Sembilan, and Batu Pahat, Larkin, Pasir Gudang and Kota Tinggi in Johor recorded unhealthy levels ranging from 102 to 162.
As for this evening, a total of nine areas – Cheras, Nilai, Bukit Rambai, Segamat, Batu Pahat, Larkin, Pasir Gudang, Pengerang and Kota Tinggi – have unhealthy levels ranging from 109 to 162. – October 7, 2023
