MELAKA – KAJ Development Sdn Bhd (KAJD), the master developer of Melaka Gateway, has advised the public to be cautious and mindful of fraudulent investment activities involving the revived megaproject.

Strategic development director Datuk Mircle Yap said the company has detected individuals and companies claiming to be the project owners with the intention of seeking investments and funding.

“There are irresponsible parties impersonating Melaka Gateway owners to carry out fraudulent investment activities.

“KAJD would like to clarify and declare its ownership of the Melaka Gateway project to protect investors and ensure the continued development of the project.

“Therefore, KAJD is taking preventive measures to stop the fraud and prevent harm to investors and the project while ensuring public safety and the project’s integrity,” he said in a statement here today.

Yap said suspicious investment offers involving its development from parties other than KAJD should be reported to the official KAJD website at https://melakagateway.com.

He said those interested to invest in the project can visit the website or email [email protected].

Melaka Gateway is a multi-sector development comprising tourism, hospitality, lifestyle, education, healthcare, housing and commercial properties.

The mega project also includes the development of the Melaka International Cruise Terminal, a pier to serve international cruise ships and ferries.

Meanwhile, KAJD executive chairman Datuk Daing A. Malek Daing A. Rahaman said the company has implemented several proactive, effective and costly measures to speed up the project’s progress, including the installation of “perforated vertical drains” to ensure that land reclamation will have the strength and capacity to accommodate the development in addition to reducing construction time. – October 2, 2023
