KUALA LUMPUR — Eight Fire and Rescue Department personnel were dispatched earlier today to save a tabby cat after the feline found itself trapped in a toilet sink.

In an incident report by the Rawang Fire and Rescue Department, it said that a distress call about the accident was received at 4.20pm from the cat’s owner. Following the call, personnel headed over to the home in Taman Regency Park.

“Once at the location, the operation commander assessed the situation and found that the cat’s leg was stuck in a toilet sink’s hole.

“Personnel used special equipment to pry open the sink’s hole until the cat was successfully extracted,” the report said, noting that the cat with calico markings was freed from the sink’s grip in about 10 minutes.

It added that the cat had gotten stuck while receiving a bath from its owner.

No victims were reported from the incident. — September 28, 2023
