KUALA LUMPUR – The retail price of RON97 petrol will increase by 10 sen, from RM3.37 to RM3.47 per litre effective tomorrow (September 21), according to the Finance Ministry.

However, the ministry said that the retail price of RON95 remains unchanged at RM2.05 per litre.

Similarly, the retail price of diesel remains unchanged at RM2.15 per litre, the ministry said in a statement.

This is based on the weekly retail pricing of petrol using the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM) formula from September 21 to September 27.

“To protect consumers from the increase of global oil prices, the government will maintain the ceiling price of RON95 at RM2.05 per litre and diesel at RM2.5 per litre, even though the market price for both products has increased beyond the current ceiling price,” the ministry said.

“The government will continue to monitor the trends of global crude oil prices and take appropriate measures to ensure the continued welfare and well-being of the people.” – September 20, 2021
