SANDAKAN – Sabah Pakatan Harapan (PH) leaders denied a news report claiming that the unity government is planning to bring Tan Sri Musa Aman back to lead the state.

In a joint statement today, top leaders of Sabah PH parties said that the former chief minister’s return was never discussed.

Today, a national news portal published an article titled “Musa Aman will lead Sabah?” in Bahasa Malaysia, which claimed that PH chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is currently looking for ways to place Musa as a leader of the Sabah Pakatan coalition.

Sabah PH leaders are standing firm on having the final say in political matters involving the state.

“Any important decision relating to the mandate and confidence of the people should be considered, looked into and refined unanimously at the Sabah PH leadership level,” they said in a brief statement.

“Sabah PH will have a meeting in the nearest time to discuss the issue, including Sabah PH’s direction in the next Sabah state election.”

The statement was issued by Sabah PH chair Datuk Christina Liew, as well as the heads of each of the state component parties: UPKO’s Datuk Ewon Benedick, PKR’s Datuk Sangkar Rasam, DAP’s Datuk Frankie Poon and Amanah’s Lahirul Latigu. – September 15, 2023
