KLANG – Pelangai assemblyman Datuk Seri Johari Harun, who was among the victims in the plane crash yesterday, was behaving strangely the day before, said Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.
Johari was confirmed to be among the 10 victims who perished in the aircraft crash at the Elmina township in Shah Alam, yesterday.
During a meeting on state development that took place in Langkawi on Wednesday, Rosdy said Johari appeared to be more talkative than usual.
“He kept interrupting our discussions during the meeting, which was unusual for him.
“During that meeting, he also raised a concern about a project delay related to a housing development,” Rosdy said when met at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah here,last night.
Rosdy also expressed his sadness over Johari’s passing, describing him as a good friend and colleague.
“It was an unexpected loss. I feel sad because I used to meet him every week. He is a very diligent, progressive, and dynamic exco member.”
The plane was on its way to the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah airport in Subang from Langkawi, Kedah prior to its crash.
According to the flight tracker application, FlightAware Flight Tracker, the Beechcraft Premier 1 twinjet started to descend at 2.31pm at a speed of 498 mph.
At the latitude of 4.55, the jet’s speed continued to descend from 489 mph at 2.32pm to 204 mph 16 minutes later.
Investigations into the cause of the crash are underway. – August 18, 2023
