SHAH ALAM – Residents of the Elmina township in Shah Alam were left shocked and terrified by the plane crash that occurred close to their homes this afternoon.
Syahidatul Izzati, a resident, told Scoop that she was shaken when she heard the loud aircraft explosion on her way home after meeting up with friends.
“I heard a sound as loud as a bomb and immediately thought there was a bomb explosion near my home,” she said when met at the crash site here.
“As a resident, I find this incident extremely frightening, as we have never experienced anything as terrifying as this before.”
Another resident, Khairul Izami, who is also a Grab delivery rider, said he received numerous warning messages from his friends while he was out delivering orders.
“I was on the way to Subang when I kept receiving calls from my friends about a plane crash near my housing area.
“At first, I thought it was a prank, but my inner instinct kept telling me that it might be true.
“As I rode back to my home, I was shocked to see a large number of police and firemen alongside the wreckage on the route to Subang,” he said.
Meanwhile, resident Rudra Sivaraj, who was crossing the Elmina Rainbow Bridge nearby the crash site, said he was shocked to witness first-hand the incident just a few metres away from where he was standing.
“I was just a few metres away from death, and thank God nothing happened to me. I pray for the victims who were affected by the crash, and may their souls rest in peace,” said Rudra.
