GOMBAK – While voters might be experiencing political fatigue, they should not waste this opportunity to vote for their preferred candidate.

According to Muhamed Azwan Ali, brother of Selangor Perikatan Nasional (PN) chief Datuk Seri Muhamed Azmin Ali, the people have a responsibility to elect a proper state representative.

“At first, I didn’t want to vote because I’m sick of our nation’s political situation, but when I woke up this morning, I felt like it would be a shame if I didn’t come and vote.

“It would have been a waste if I didn’t vote because every vote matters. It’s not about (your candidate) winning or losing, that’s not the issue,” Azwan, better known as Diva AA, told reporters when met outside the polling station at SK Klang Gate here, early this morning.

The local celebrity was the earliest to arrive at the station for the Hulu Kelang state constituency, which will see a straight fight between Azmin and Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) Juwairiya Zulkifly.

Commenting on how it is the first time that incumbent Bukit Antarabangsa assemblyman Azmin is vying for the Hulu Kelang state seat since he first helmed the state constituency in 1999 to 2004, Azwan warned his brother that it will be a tough fight to secure the seat again.

“Family ties do not factor into my voting considerations. (Azmin) might win, but his opponent also has a fair chance.

“If he loses here, it will be the downfall of his political career,” he added.

Clad in a black t-shirt paired with red plaid pants and a matching cloth scarf, Azwan also said that the voting process went smoothly. – August 12, 2023
