Malaysia Championship Series: Round 3 thrills and triumphs

Sepang International Circuit witnesses exhilarating conclusion of the race showcasing fierce action

KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysia Championship Series (MCS) Round Three concluded on August 27 at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC). 

Initiated by SIC, the MCS aims to foster four-wheel racing sports in Malaysia. 

The event drew 96 drivers and 45 teams, both local and international, across categories like Touring Production, Malaysia Touring Car, Stock Production 1, and Stock Production 2. 

Avik Anwar from Bangladesh clinched victory in Touring Production, with Jonathan Xie from Skuber Race Team following closely (+1.159s), while Malaysian racers Imran Wafi Adnan and Lee Kun Soon (+32.679s) completed the podium.

The Malaysians also secured a podium spot in the Honda Classified category.

Meanwhile, Mitchell Cheah, the first Asian in Germany’s Touring Car Series, triumphed in the Malaysian Touring Car category, while brothers Naquib Azlan and Nabil Azlan of Wing Hin Motorsports came in third (+7.857s).

The final MCS round on September 22 to 24 will feature a challenging 300km, 54-lap endurance race at the 5,543-metre circuit.
