Blacklisting employers who fail to provide jobs or pay wages to their foreign workers without a proper investigation is unfair, an employers’ group has said of the decision to punish companies over non-existent jobs.

Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has once again courted controversy, this time with his racially tinged remarks targeting Malaysian Indians during an interview with the Chennai-based satellite television channel, Thanthi TV.

In a Facebook post today, he revealed that the government has allocated approximately RM22 billion to assist the poor, especially in rural areas. However, studies found that not all of the funds have reached the intended recipients due to various leakages in the system.
