Amanah fields 31 candidates for state polls, 15 fresh faces

KUALA LUMPUR – Amanah has announced 31 candidates for the upcoming state elections, where 15 of them are new faces.

In a press conference, today, Amanah president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu said the candidates’ list also includes seven women and seven youth members.

Selangor Infrastructure, Public Amenities, and Agriculture Modernisation executive councillor Izham Hashim will defend the Pandan Indah seat, while Mazwan Johar has been retained for Sg Ramal.

Meanwhile, Hulu Langat MP Mohd Sany Hamzan has been replaced by Anfaal Saari for the Taman Templer seat.

In Kedah, Amanah vice president Datuk Mahfuz Omar will contest the Alor Mengkudu seat.

Only two Amanah candidates will contest in Penang; Azrul Mahathir Aziz (Bayan Lepas) and Muhammad Faiz Fadzil (Permatang Pasir).

Negri Sembilan Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Action Committee chairman Datuk Bakri Sawir will be defending the Klawang seat for his third term, while Norwani Ahmat will contest for the Paroi seat.

Currently, Mohamad Zamir Ghazali (Batu Buruk) and Suhaimi Sulaiman (Ru Rendang) are the only candidates for Terengganu.

However, Mohamad said Terengganu’s Tepuh and Bandar constituency seats are still being negotiated and will be announced before the nomination day.
