Maxis appoints Johan Idris as chairman, effective March 1

Former KPMG Malaysia managing partner takes over from interim chairman Datuk Hamidah Naziadin

KUALA LUMPUR — Maxis has appointed Datuk Johan Idris as its chairman, effective March 1, 2025. 

Johan was previously the managing partner of KPMG in Malaysia and a member of KPMG Asia Pacific Board as well as the KPMG International Global Council.

He was also the president of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).

Currently, he serves as the non-executive chairman of KPMG in Malaysia and is a council member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA).

“He has over 35 years of extensive experience across various industries and sectors, both local and global, with a proven leadership track record,” Maxis said in a statement. 

The telecommunications company also extended its gratitude to Datuk Hamidah Naziadin, who served as its interim chairman since July 1, 2024, adding that Hamidah would continue her role as its independent non-executive director. — February 14, 2025
