KUALA LUMPUR – In the spirit of Chinese New Year, more than 100 senior citizens were joyfully celebrated with the “Bakul Makanan Mesra Kasih Sg Buloh” aid, ushering in the celebration ahead of tomorrow’s festivities.

Deputy Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister and Sg Buloh MP Datuk Seri R. Ramanan said he also distributed mandarin oranges, a symbol of prosperity, and red angpau symbolising blessings, at an event organised by the Kg Baru Subang Kochow Association with senior citizens of the Sg Buloh parliamentary constituency.

“What a vibrant atmosphere it was and I was deeply touched by the warm reception. Since taking the lead in this constituency, my principle has always been to connect with the people through programmes that empower the community and strengthen the bonds of friendship among us.

“In celebration of Chinese New Year, let us spread love and joy, celebrating together in a cheerful and happy atmosphere with family, friends and fellow Malaysians,” he said in a post on Facebook.

Ramanan also expressed hope that the Year of Snake would bring even greater prosperity, well-being and happiness to the nation and all Malaysians.

He added that the Madani government, led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, is dedicated to rolling out various initiatives to fulfil the people’s aspirations.

“His main focus is to ensure the Madani agenda is inclusive for all. Gong Xi Fa Chai! May all your dreams come true,” he said. – January 28, 2025
