KUALA LUMPUR — Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) executive committee member Christopher Raj, has announced that he will not be defending his seat for the 2025-2029 term.

He said  that this decision was made last October to provide an opportunity for others to take up the position during the FAM Executive Committee Election for the 2025-2029 term, which will be held at the 61st FAM Congress on February 15.

“As such, January 15 was my last day attending the FAM Executive Committee meetings as an exco member since 2017.

“After eight years of service, I admit this is not an easy decision, but it is the best path for me to focus fully on my main career,” he said in a statement today.

Christopher, who is also the former manager of the national under-17 football team, expressed his thanks to FAM president Tan Sri Hamidin Mohd Amin and everyone who supported and gave him the opportunity to serve with the national football body.

“I am also deeply grateful to my fellow exco members who have fought alongside me all these years, and I wish them all the best.

“Keep pushing Malaysian football to greater heights,” he added. — January 22, 2025
