RM600 mil facelift for Sultan Abdul Samad building, Carcosa Seri Negara

Khazanah’s 2025 allocation includes new bridge to link Carcosa Seri Negara with Perdana Botanical Garden, preserving KL’s heritage and cultural appeal

KUALA LUMPUR – The Sultan Abdul Samad building and Carcosa Seri Negara here will be getting a massive facelift as sovereign wealth fund Khazanah Nasional Bhd will be allocating RM600 million for that purpose next year.

In tabling Budget 2025, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (Tambun-PH) said this allocation includes building a multi-storey bridge connecting Perdana Botanical Garden with Carcosa Seri Negara.

“This is to maintain Kuala Lumpur’s image as a cultural and creative city,” he told Dewan Rakyat today. – October 18, 2024
