KUALA LUMPUR — Deputy Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Fuziah Salleh is PKR’s new secretary-general, replacing Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

Saifuddin Nasution remains as secretary-general for the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition, while also continuing other posts as member of PKR’s political bureau and the unity government’s leadership council.

PKR vice-president Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said Saifuddin Nasution relinquished his post to focus on his other duties.

“The PKR leadership council met today to decide on restructuring several important posts to strengthen the party.

“All these appointments are effective immediately,” Nik Nazmi said in a statement.

Fuziah, who is a former Kuantan MP, will also be replaced as Pahang PKR chief by Rizal Jamin.

In Perak, PKR will be headed by state deputy chief Hairul Amir Sabri replacing Chang Lih King, who is the science, technology and innovation minister and Tanjong Malim MP.

“Chang will continue to be a vice-president,” Nik Nazmi said.

At national level, PKR has also formed a management committee with Saifuddin Nasution as its adviser.

Members of the management committee are party vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar, new secretary-general Fuziah, treasurer-general William Leong, PKR Youth deputy chief Kamil Munim and Wanita PKR deputy chief Juwairiya Zulkifli. — September 15, 2024
