KUALA LUMPUR – Police have obtained a remand extension order against a suspect in the alleged cyberbullying of TikTok influencer Rajeswary Appahu, which reportedly led to her death.

Sentul district police chief Ahmad Sukarno Mohd Zahari said the Kuala Lumpur magistrate’s court allowed the detention of the suspect for two more days until July 12.

On July 8, police arrested a 35-year-old woman at her home in Rawang, Selangor over the case and obtained a remand order for her until today to assist with investigations.

Authorities also confirmed that there were two TikTok accounts involved with making rude and vulgar threats towards Rajeswary, whose online influencer name was Esha.

The police identified Dulal Brothers and @alphaquinnsha as the accounts involved in the alleged cyberbullying of Esha.

Before her death on July 5, Rajeswary had lodged a police report at the Dang Wangi police station, where she described in detail the threats of violence made against her.

The influencer said a TikTok account with the handle Dulal Brothers hosted a livestream on June 30 with around 700 viewers, where participants made rape and death threats against her. – July 10, 2024
