KUALA LUMPUR – National kegler Sin Li Jane continues to conquer the lanes in the United States, claiming her third Professional Women’s Bowling Association (PWBA) Tour title on Thursday (Friday in Malaysia).
According to the PWBA’s official website, the 32-year-old emerged victorious in the Greater Nashville Classic at the Smyrna Bowling Centre in Tennessee, defeating Singapore’s Cherie Tan 257-208 in the final.
As the only kegler to have won two titles this season, Li Jane is now the front runner for the PWBA Player of the Year award, having bagged the PWBA Bowlers Journal Rockford Open on May 11.
“Cherie is a great competitor and I know that any time I go against her, the scores will be high and it will be a tough match. I just had to focus on throwing good shots.
“That (being named PWBA Player of the Year) would be great. I hadn’t thought about that. If that were to happen, it would be incredible,” she was quoted as saying on the PWBA website.
Li Jane’s maiden title win in the highly competitive PWBA Tour was back in 2017 when she claimed the Lincoln Open crown.
The 2017 World Bowling Women’s Championships team event gold medallist finished runner-up at the 2016 PWBA Greater Detroit Open, 2017 PWBA Wichita Open and 2019 USBC Queens. – May 31, 2024
