KUALA LUMPUR – The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has announced a three-year partnership with Malaysia Airlines, making the airline the main sponsor of the Harimau Malaya squad and FAM.

The sponsorship, running from January 2024 to December 2026, was unveiled today at a ceremony in Sepang.

The agreement was formalised with the signing of the sponsorship documents by FAM secretary-general Datuk Noor Azman Rahman and Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) chief commercial officer for airlines Dersenish Aresandiran.

The signing was witnessed by FAM president Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin and MAG chief executive for aviation Ahmad Luqman Mohd Azmi.

“The collaboration between FAM and (Malaysia Airlines) not only reflects loyalty but also demonstrates their dedication and commitment to the national football arena,” said Hamidin in a statement.

“It sends an important message to the supporters of the national squad that FAM can provide added value to its sponsors and positively impact the national economic sector.

“I believe that with (Malaysia Airlines) as our main sponsor, we will achieve various successes together.”

Luqman echoed this sentiment, highlighting the airline’s ongoing support for Malaysian sports.

“As the national flag carrier, we are proud to maintain our service to the national football squad and provide continuous support to FAM through our sponsorship, now in its sixth consecutive year.

“We are excited to extend this partnership for another three years, as part of our strategic vision to elevate Malaysian sports to a higher level,” Luqman stated. – May 30, 2024
