Cops foil drunken attempt to seize weapon at police station in Penang

Cops arrest 35-year-old suspect after he tried to grab a weapon, currently treated for light injuries from apprehension

KUALA LUMPUR – A man was arrested yesterday for attempting to seize a weapon from a sentry at a police station in Penang.

According to a source, the 35-year-old suspect entered the police station around 7pm. 

It is believed that the suspect was in a drunken state and attempted to grab the weapon. 

“The drunk suspect’s attempt to steal the weapon was unsuccessful. 

“The suspect is already in custody and is currently being interrogated. Further investigation is being conducted,’ the source said. 

The suspect is said to have suffered slight injuries when being apprehended by the authorities. 

He is currently receiving treatment at Penang General Hospital and is reportedly in stable condition. – May 19, 2024
