KUALA LUMPUR – Hong Leong MSIG Takaful Bhd (HLM Takaful) will partner with the Malaysian Football League (MFL) for the coming 2024-2025 season.

HLM Takaful chairman Martin Giles Manen extended his appreciation to the MFL for their professionalism and collaborative efforts in finalising the collaboration.

He also emphasised the shared goal of enhancing the popularity of football in Malaysia, not only as a sport but also as a platform to promote a healthy lifestyle and financial protection through takaful coverage.

HLM Takaful hopes that this partnership will raise awareness of its brand among the MFL’s audience, promote family takaful products and services, and explore career and entrepreneurial opportunities for Malaysians.

HLM Takaful will leverage on activation events that could be held around the stadiums to promote several career and entrepreneurial opportunities by the takaful provider to Malaysians.

All the efforts listed above are part of HLM Takaful’s marketing plans to expand its customer base and increase takaful penetration in Malaysia, which currently stands at around 20%.

HLM Takaful and MFL believe that this collaboration will enable them to continue promoting a healthy lifestyle and strengthen society’s understanding of takaful through football.

“As HLM Takaful is a multi-distribution channel takaful operator, we look forward to leveraging the popularity of football to attract more new intermediaries and customers. We believe that this collaboration will also support the promotion of our brand value, Trust-Legacy-Dedication”, said HLM Takaful chief executive Mohd Asri Omar.

MFL chief executive Datuk Stuart Ramalingam said HLM Takaful’s involvement as the official sponsor partner for the 2024-2025 season would add colour to the Super League, which begins on May 10.

“On behalf of MFL president Datuk Ab Ghani Hassan, the MFL board of directors, and the Malaysian football family, I warmly appreciate HLM Takaful’s interest in working (together) on the development of the Malaysian league.

“MFL obtained recognition when the well-known takaful operator HLM Takaful expressed its intention to become an official sponsor of MFL beginning with the 2024-2025 season.

“I believe it is the right move for HLM Takaful to capitalise on the Malaysian league to promote the importance of financial protection through their products and services, given the Malaysian league’s significance as the country’s main elite football tournament, which attracts attention from all walks of life,” said Stuart. – May 3, 2024
