Taiwanese math rock trio Elephant Gym returns to Malaysia with 10th anniversary tour

KUALA LUMPUR – Critically acclaimed Taiwanese math rock sensation, Elephant Gym, is set to make a return to Malaysia with the band’s monumental 10th-anniversary tour, aptly titled “THE WORLD.”

Alongside this celebration, the band is gearing up for the release of its highly anticipated new album, WORLD.

True to its name, THE WORLD tour spans continents, taking Elephant Gym to cities across Europe and the United States. For fans in Malaysia, the highlight of this global celebration will be the show scheduled for June 23 at the Bentley Music Auditorium, according to a press release by local promoter Soundscape Records.

Comprising siblings KT Chang, Tell Chang and drummer Tu Chia-Chin, Elephant Gym has garnered international acclaim for its captivating live performances and intricate compositions since the band’s debut a decade ago. 

Now, as the band marks this significant milestone, the trio aims to showcase its musical evolution and share its passion for music with fans worldwide.

Following the release of its previous album Dreams, Elephant Gym last performed in Malaysia on February 5, 2023.

Adding an extra layer of musical magic to the band’s 10th-anniversary celebration, Elephant Gym will be joined by two additional wind-instrument players from Taiwan. This unique collaboration is set to elevate the band’s already dynamic sound, promising a mesmerising auditory experience for the audience.

“In this world tour, we look forward to performing in more than 40 shows across many different continents,” the band said in a statement.

“We are excited to play for you in Malaysia. We will perform some new songs from the latest album “WORLD” and some of our classic ones. This time, two wind players from Taiwan will join the show.”
