KUALA LUMPUR – Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim has graciously presented Proton X90 SUVs to Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain and senior officials of Istana Negara in recognition of their outstanding contributions and service.

The senior Istana Negara officials who received the gift were Grand Chamberlain Datuk Azuan Effendy Zairakithnaini and Istana Negara religious officer Datuk Munir Md Salleh.

Also receiving the gift were former comptroller of the royal household Maj Gen Datuk Zahari Mohd Ariffin and Datuk Nazim Mohd Alim.

According to a post on Sultan Ibrahim’s Facebook page, the gifts from the King were presented by Comptroller of the Royal Household Datuk Zailani Hashim, at Istana Negara here today.

“His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim and the royal family of Johor, through the Royal Johor Foundations, have provided various contributions to assist those in need. His Majesty has also graciously donated 10,000 packages of free rice weighing 10kg each in Johor last year to assist the poor and low-income groups.

“In addition to the gifts and contributions through the Royal Johor Foundations to the general public, His Majesty also presents cars to officers who have shown dedication in carrying out their duties,” the post stated.

According to the post, the Agong has long been presenting cars to government officers, district officers, medical doctors and nurses.

In 2010, Sultan Ibrahim gifted 11 cars and eight high-powered motorcycles to the Royal Malaysia Police, while Proton Suprima cars were given to all district officers in Johor in 2018.

In expressing appreciation to medical teams, the monarch has also granted 10 Perodua Myvi cars to nurses serving at the royal ward of Sultanah Aminah Hospital, Johor Bahru, in September 2020.

“His Majesty has also given Proton X70 to three doctors in recognition of their service in the medical team of the Johor Palace in 2021,” the post added. – March 8, 2024
