Be more respectful of religion, Na’im urges influencers

PUTRAJAYA – The religious affairs minister has urged all parties, especially media influencers, to be more respectful towards religion and country.

In a post on Facebook yesterday, Datuk Mohd Na’im Mokhtar said that influencers should set a good example in their moral conduct so that all good deeds would be rewarded continuously.

“At the same time, we are nurturing a generation that upholds religious values and morals.

“Do not chase popularity by creating sensation to the extent of normalising sinful and immoral acts,” he said.

Na’im said he was shocked by news reports where an individual who was under trial in court for prostitution-related activities was invited as a guest on a podcast.

“It is clear that prostitution activities are a revolting act in the eyes of religion,” he said. – February 7, 2024
