KUALA LUMPUR – Is Lewis Hamilton making a move to Ferrari for the 2025 season?

Rumours have been circulating about the possibility of the seven-time Formula 1 champion making a move to Ferrari for the 2025 season, as cited by multiple sources.

Speculation about Hamilton’s potential move has been circulating in the Italian and Spanish media, indicating an official announcement regarding this significant development could be made later today.

Ferrari was also reportedly keen on pairing him with current driver Charles Leclerc for the 2025 season.

If the rumours turn out to be true, Hamilton, who signed a new two-year deal with Mercedes for 2024 and 2025 last summer, appears to have the option to leave after just one season, raising eyebrows within the F1 community.

While intermittent rumours of Hamilton joining Ferrari have surfaced in the past, sources now suggest that this time, the speculation holds more weight.

Both Ferrari and Mercedes have chosen to remain tight-lipped on the matter.

However, it is learned that all Mercedes team members were called to a team briefing with team principal Toto Wolff and technical director James Allison earlier today.

Hamilton’s potential move to Ferrari would mark a significant shift in his illustrious career.

Notably, when he left McLaren for Mercedes in 2013, sceptics questioned his decision.

However, Hamilton silenced the critics and went on to become Britain’s most successful driver in Formula 1 history, dominating the sport from the 2014 season onwards. – February 1, 2024
