Focus on your jobs, not Langkah Dubai or other ‘langkah’, Loke tells Sanusi and co

DAP sec-gen says Kedah MB should be focusing on developing state instead of ‘being irresponsible’

KUALA LUMPUR – Individuals who are transfixed by the so-called Langkah Dubai plot should be focusing on their jobs instead of being irresponsible, said DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke.

Loke was referring to Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor who had recently said that he is confident the unity government will collapse before the revelation of the so-called Langkah Dubai surfaced.

The transport minister said that Sanusi should focus on developing Kedah, instead of being “busy” in planning to topple the government.

“Sanusi should continue focusing on his work in developing Kedah as he was given the mandate as the state’s menteri besar, not to focus on any Langkah Chow Kit or Alor Setar and whatever ‘langkah’ (manoeuvre) there is in a plan to disrupt the government,” he told reporters after visiting SMK St Paul in Seremban today.

“But let Sanusi be with whatever ‘langkah’ he wants. What is important is that the government’s current direction is realising the ‘Langkah Pendigitalan’ (digitalisation).

“Because, if we succeed in our digitalisation efforts, then we are confident that the country will progress better in carrying out any government policy with an information system that is integrated through digitalisation.”

Recently, Loke announced that those opting for digital driving licenses (e-LMM) during renewals between February 1 and December 31 will get a RM5 rebate.

This, Loke said, is one of the government’s efforts done by the Transport Ministry in moving towards digitalisation, apart from the introduction of the Central Database Hub (Padu).

Padu, which was launched on Tuesday, is a comprehensive government system containing profiles of individuals and households, encompassing citizens and permanent residents in the country. – January 4, 2023
