14-year-old Daniel sent for medical check-up after found last night

Cops say probe ongoing to figure out how boy ended up at place where he was found

KUALA LUMPUR – The 14-year-old boy who had gone missing and was subsequently found around the Saidina Othman Mosque area last night has been sent for a medical check-up at Canselor Tuanku Muhriz Hospital (HCTM), here.

In a statement today, Cheras district police chief Zam Halim Jamaluddin who confirmed the latest development, also said police had received a missing persons’ report on Muhammad Daniel Akmal Zulkhairi on Thursday.

“Acting on a public tip-off, the parents of the 14-year-old, alongside his school teacher, went to the Saidina Othman Mosque in Bandar Tun Razak, Cheras. (They) found him in a weak condition.

“The victim was then taken to HCTM for a health check-up.

“Further investigation is ongoing to find out how Muhammad Daniel ended up there (at the place where he was found),” he said.

Zam Halim also thanked the public for their assistance in providing the information that led to the boy’s discovery.

He also urged members of the public with information about this incident to get in touch with the Cheras police at 03-9284-5050/5051, Kuala Lumpur police at 03-2115-9999 or any nearby police station.

Daniel was reported missing since Thursday, where he was last seen around the vicinity of SM Sains Alam Shah along Jalan Yaacob Latif in Cheras.

Earlier today, it was reported he was found and reunited with his family, after going missing for nearly two days. – December 9, 2023
