KUALA LUMPUR – The Madani government’s One-Year Anniversary Programme was off to a smashing start as throngs of people crowded the Bukit Jalil National Stadium today to partake in festivities and gain insight on government initiatives.
Football fans were also spotted taking the opportunity to visit various counters offering a plethora of services to the public as they await the Malaysia Cup final between Johor Darul Ta’zim and Terengganu FC at the stadium tonight.
Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil, who stopped by to visit his ministry’s booth, told Scoop that the programme has garnered positive response from the public, as evidenced by the thousands of people gathered at the stadium.
“There are plenty of interesting activities on offer, including a counter offering discounts of up to 50% on traffic summonses by the Royal Malaysian Police. A lot of free items are also being handed out to those who visit the many counters.
“Visitors can also look out for the lucky draw event which will have a PR1MA house as one of its prizes,” Fahmi added.
Noting that his ministry’s booth is giving the public a chance to try out a number of digital games, Fahmi urged the people to opt for public transportation to ease traffic congestion, which began to build up as the day went on.
Earlier today, it was reported that 109 buses carrying more than 4,000 JDT fans arrived at the stadium to show their support for the team during tonight’s match.
The Madani Government One-Year Anniversary Programme, which kicked off today and will take place until Sunday, is held to disseminate and promote new policies and initiatives introduced by the unity government since taking over the administration of the country on November 24 last year.
It also aims to increase public awareness and understanding of the government’s direction to build the trust and confidence of the people through periodical reporting of achievements. – December 8, 2023
