KUALA LUMPUR – The TikTok user who made a threat against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim “did it for fun”, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said.

He told The Star that the 34-year-old suspect who has been arrested was a new user of the video sharing platform.

In a video which has since been deleted, the man had offered a RM5 million bounty to assassinate Anwar.

“He is believed to have done that for fun,” Razarudin was quoted as saying by The Star.

Razarudin said police have completed their investigation into the man who was arrested in Kota Bharu, Kelantan.

Police are expected to submit the investigation papers to the Attorney-General’s Chambers on December 4, he added.
