J-Kom controversy: Wahab to give statement at Bukit Aman today

This comes after he was reported to be suffering from severe depression, forcing him to reschedule appointment with police

KUALA LUMPUR – Community Communications Department (J-Kom) assistant officer Abdul Wahab Abdul Kadir Jilani is set to meet the police at Bukit Aman at 3pm this afternoon.

Wahab’s lawyer, Faizal Rahman, confirmed the matter to The Star, when contacted today.

On Monday, Wahab was reported as having severe depression, forcing him to to reschedule his appointment with the police.

He had been due to provide his statement to the police on Saturday in relation to an alleged lewd video featuring him and former J-Kom director-general Datuk Mohammad Agus Yusoff.

Both Agus and Wahab, in a press conference on November 17, admitted to having a video call but said the audio in the clip was doctored to make it sound like a lewd conversation.

They both also said a “Mr H”, who worked in J-Kom was behind the clip meant to tarnish Agus and was the one who instructed Wahab to record the call for the purpose of entrapment.

Agus has since lodged a police report against Mr H, while police have since urged Wahab to come forward to assist with the investigation. – November 29, 2023
