KUALA LUMPUR – Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) today inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Yayasan Astro Kasih for the upcoming Kem Badminton Astro programme next year.
The signing ceremony took place at Akademi Badminton Malaysia here today.
BAM was represented by its president Tan Sri Mohamad Norza Zakaria and Yayasan Astro Kasih was represented by its chairman Tun Zaki Tun Azmi.
Norza acknowledged the contribution of Astro Kem Badminton in unearthing young talent who go on and represent the national team.
“BAM recognises the positive impact that the Astro Kem Badminton has had on Malaysian badminton.
“Indeed, this program has played a part in inspiring young players, and today, 40 of them proudly represent the national team.
“Through this partnership, and through the active participation of our coaches and players, we hope the camp wil have an even bigger impact and continue to inspire young players to become world beaters,” Norza said.
Zaki added that Yayasan Astro Kasih believes in giving young Malaysians the platform to receive professional training in the sport.
“Astro Kem Badminton gives us the ability to positively impact young athletes’ personal development, not only in mastery of their playing skills, but also towards instilling values of sportsmanship, leadership and love of the country,” he said. – November 21, 2023
