KUALA LUMPUR – Kemaman voters will be heading to the ballot box on December 2 and early voting on November 28.

In a statement, Election Commission (EC) chairman Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Salleh said nomination day is on November 18.

The Kemaman by-election is being held following a decision by the Terengganu Elections Court on September 26 annulling PAS candidate Che Alias Hamid’s victory in the 15th general election.

This was after petitioner Wan Mohamad Hisham Wan Abdul Jalil was able to prove that corruption had taken place during the election.

Previously, PAS secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said the party would not file an appeal against the court’s decision to annul its candidate’s win. – October 17, 2023
