Hajiji refutes power abuse claims involving Kudat land deal

Sabah CM responds to allegations made by social media account

KOTA KINABALU – Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor today refuted an allegation of power abuse in approving a land deal in Kudat.

The Sabah chief minister, in a statement today, said the accusations are ill-intended, politically motivated and aimed at smearing his name, and his office will give full cooperation to any investigation into the allegation.

He said all the applications involving the deal have gone through the necessary procedures through the Land Utilisation Committee meeting and processed at the office.

“The application for the Yayasan Sabah land has been referred to the Innoprise Corporation Sdn Bhd board of directors, and everything was done according to the law,” said Hajiji.

Social media has been abuzz over allegations of power abuse by Hajiji as the chief minister who had approved six land applications involving 968.4ha in Kudat, with a Sarawakian businessmen who is alleged to be his accomplice. 

Hajiji said the authorities were also alerted about the social media account which posted the allegations to tarnish his reputation.

“I will consult my lawyers to initiate legal action against these false allegations,” he added.

The chief minister said investigations will be done and appropriate action taken against the officers who released confidential documents that had been used to make such allegations. – October 9, 2023
