KUALA LUMPUR – The hunt is on for a man suspected of stabbing a woman from behind yesterday at a self-service laundrette at Seberang Takir in Kuala Nerus, Terengganu.
The 31-year-old victim, who was also hit and kicked, is currently in stable condition and being treated at Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital.
Kuala Terengganu deputy police chief Wan Mohd Zaki Wan Ismail said the suspect followed the woman into the laundrette before stabbing her from behind, possibly with a pair of scissors.
The suspect then took off in a grey Proton Wira that was parked in front of a 24-hour convenience store next to the laundrette.
He said the victim did not report any losses, and the case is being investigated under Section 324/393 of the Penal Code – voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means and attempting to commit robbery. – October 1, 2023
