KUALA LUMPUR — National men’s doubles shuttler, Nur Izzuddin Rumsani, bid farewell to his bachelorhood as he married the love of his life, Mawar Mutiara, in a ceremony last night.

According to a social media post shared by Ameer Zainuddin, a close friend of Izzuddin and also the national junior coach at the Akademi Badminton Malaysia (ABM), it was reported that the groom experienced nosebleeds, which stained his baju Melayu, due to nervousness during the wedding ceremony.

Ameer, who was present at the solemniation, confirmed to Scoop that the wedding took place in a mosque in Rawang.

The simple ceremony was officiated by a marriage officiant appointed by the bride’s father, Abdul Razak.

Both the bride and groom were elegantly dressed in beautiful white attire for their special day.

Despite the recent wedding festivities, the 25-year-old Johorean athlete will soon return to his badminton pursuits.

He and his partner, Goh Sze Fei, will be participating in the Kaohsiung Masters from September 26 to October 1, followed by the Arctic Open from October 10 to 15. — September 23, 2023
