KUALA LUMPUR – Aikido, a Japanese martial art, was developed by Morihei Ueshiba in the late 1920s through the combination of older martial arts he had learned from Takeda Sokaku.
Known as the art of peace, Aikido is widely practiced in around 140 countries, and Malaysia is no exception.
Meet Yang Mulia Raja Sazita Yang Mulia Raja Ahmed Siffudin, the only female honorary general secretary of the Malaysia Aikido Association.
Raja Sazita is the middle child of seven, who picked up Aikido for the first time with her siblings over two decades ago.
Aikido, which began as a fun adventure to try, has now become an integral part of her life in Bandar DiRaja, Kuala Kangsar.
