KUALA LUMPUR – After two weeks of intense political campaigns, millions of Malaysians in Selangor, Penang, Kelantan, Terengganu, Negri Sembilan, and Kedah have finally cast their votes at their respective polling stations today to determine their next state government.
As of 4pm today, Terengganu has witnessed the highest turnout at (70%), closely trailed by Kedah (68%), Penang (67%), Selangor (65%), Negri Sembilan (62%), and Kelantan (56%).
Concerns surrounding the diminished voter participation in Kelantan prompted PAS to release a statement urging citizens to actively engage in the democratic process rather than abstaining in protest.
Today’s state elections primarily revolved around a face-off between Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional (PN). A total of 572 candidates are vying for victory across 245 state seats.
Among the contested seats, 51 will witness three-party competitions, 13 will host four-party rivalries, and a rare five-party contest will unfold in one seat. Furthermore, 181 seats will be the battleground for straight fights.

11.34pm: OFFICIAL – PN candidate Wan Dzahanurin Ahmad wins by a narrow margin in SG KANDIS with 28,926 votes, while Zawawi Mughni from PH obtained 28,759 votes, and Afriene Shaqira received 1,341 votes.
10:56 pm: UNOFFICIAL – PAS candidate Ahmad Zakhran Mat Noor is leading with 13,168 votes in Kelantan’s KEMUNING seat. His rival, Mohd Fakaaruddin Ismail of BN, has garnered 7,481 votes so far.
10.48pm: UNOFFICIAL – The TAMAN MEDAN seat is won by PN candidate Afif Bahardin with 22,316 votes. PH candidate Ahmad Akhir Pawan Chik received 22,286 votes.

10:31pm: UNOFFICIAL – PAS candidate Abdul Fattah Mahmood is leading with 22,582 votes in Kelantan’s N26 BUKIT PANAU seat. His rival, Samsu Adabi Mamat of PH, has garnered 5,954 votes so far.

9.48pm: Deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has arrived at the unity government’s watch party held at the World Trade Centre. The BN chairman pushed through the media scrum to enter Dewan Tun Hussein Onn, where several other unity government leaders have already converged.
9.47pm: OFFICIAL – PN has won in the PERMATANG seat after its candidate, Nurul Syazwani Noh, obtained 12,592 votes, thereby defeating PH’s Mohd Yahya Mat Sahri or Pak Ya (11,024 votes).
9.46pm: OFFICIAL – PH candidate for the BANTING seat, Papparaidu Veraman, secures victory with 27,110 votes, while his contender, Saravanan Mutto Krishnan, only received 5,111 votes. Independent candidate Ang Wei Yang managed to secure only 1,430 votes.
9.41pm: UNOFFICIAL – PN candidate Nurul Syazwani Noh is leading in the PERMATANG seat with 12,592 votes, while Mohd Yahya Mat Sahri or Pakya representing PH, has obtained 11,024 votes.
PAS candidate Mohd Rodzi Jaafar is leading with 6,477 votes in Kelantan’s N32 GAAL seat. His rival, Mohd Aliff Nasrol Mat Nasin of BN, has garnered 3,911 votes so far.
9.40pm: OFFICIAL – PN has won in the IJOK seat after its candidate, Jefri Mejan, obtained 12,178 votes, defeating PH candidate Amidi Abdul Manan (11,271 votes), and independent candidate, Tan Cat Keong (194 votes).

It remains a very close fight for HULU KELANG as PH’s Juwairiya holds a slim lead with 6,199 votes over PN’s Azmin (6,096).

In REPAH, PH’s S. Veerapan is ahead of the race with 7,922 votes against opponent PN’s Yong Li Yi (2,846).
8.22pm: UNOFFICIAL – PN candidate Mohd Azam Abd Samat is leading Kedah’s SG LIMAU seat with 2,298 votes to PH candidate Siti Balkhis Husain who has 511 votes.

Caretaker Terengganu menteri besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar of PAS, has a comfortable lead in RU RENDANG with 9,107 votes, over PH’s Suhaimi Sulaiman’s 1,645.
PH candidate for RAWANG, Chua Wei Kiat, is leading with 10,318 votes, while R. Rejean Kumar from PN has obtained 3,815 votes.
PN candidate for HULU Kelang, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, leads with 2,186 votes in early counting, with PH’s Juwairiya Zulkifli trailing with 1,933 votes.
