Ask your son in-law to come back, Puad tells Muhyiddin

Puad says the involvement of Interpol in the case meant that the case was very serious

KUALA LUMPUR — Johor state speaker Datuk Mohd Puad Zarkashi urged former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to set a good example for Malaysians by asking his son-in-law to return to the country for questioning immediately.

Puad who is also Umno supreme council member said the fact the Muhyiddin’s son-in-law, Datuk Seri Muhammad Adlan Berhan is wanted by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) requiring the involvement of Interpol meant that it is a very serious case.

“(Instead) Muhyiddin issued a statement asking the Rakyat not to feel concerned.

“He is still dreaming to become a prime minister. Why wait for MACC to reveal, then return?” Puad said in his Facebook post today.

He warned Muhyiddin to act fast so as not to create a new cluster dubbed the “kluster takut mahkamah” (court-fearing cluster).

Last Wednesday, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief Tan Sri Azam Baki said the commission will request the police to submit the names of two individuals, Adlan and lawyer Mansor Saat on the Interpol red notice list.

He added that Adlan and Mansor’s passports will be blacklisted if they fail to show up at MACC. — August 11, 2023.
