Maybank’s online services functioning again after brief outage

The bank announced that customers can return to performing transactions normally

KUALA LUMPUR – Maybank’s internet-based services are now back online, following a brief outage that affected the bank earlier this afternoon.

On its official ‘X’ profile (the website formerly known as Twitter), the bank announced that users are now able to perform their banking transactions as per usual.

Should there be any issues, users in Malaysia can send Maybank a private message at 1-300-88-6688 for any assistance, while those overseas may reach out to +603-7844 3696, it said.

Earlier today, Maybank’s services were temporarily unavailable for Maybank2u web and mobile banking – namely the M2U app and MAE – as well as debit and credit card usage.

Several Maybank users said they had faced issues logging in to the MAE app and making payments. Those who managed to log into the application said it had reflected a zero bank balance in their accounts.

They also mentioned that Maybank’s customer service was also inaccessible at that time. – August 7, 2023
