KUALA LUMPUR – A man who had reportedly been missing since last week was found dead in bushes on the side of the road in Felda Soeharto, Hulu Selangor, yesterday.

Hulu Selangor district deputy police chief Mohd Asri Mohd Yunus said the 57-year-old was found at about 10.15am next to his Honda EX5 motorcycle.

“It is understood that the man left his house in Taman Sentosa, Klang, to buy cigarettes before his 29-year-old son noticed he was missing,” he said in a statement today.

“The son, who also owns the motorcycle, reported his father’s disappearance on June 9 at the Klang police headquarters.

“Investigations found that the motorcycle ridden by the man had veered off course while passing Jalan Besar Felda Soeharto. He died at the scene.”

After speaking to relatives and local residents, Asri said it was unclear where the victim was headed since he had no family or friends at the crime scene.

According to a post-mortem conducted at Kuala Kubu Baharu Hospital, chest injuries were determined to be the cause of death.

“Investigations will be carried out under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.”

He added that police were requesting the public’s assistance in providing information regarding the accident to aid in the investigation. – June 16, 2024
