Severe thunderstorms, heavy rain to batter Kuala Lumpur, Selangor today

Adverse weather conditions will also affect Kedah, Penang, Perak, as well as other locations across Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR – Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds will hit Kuala Lumpur and eight districts in Selangor today.

According to the Meteorological Department, the affected areas in Selangor are Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat and Hulu Langat.

The adverse weather conditions will also hit the northern states, such as Kedah (Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu), Penang (Seberang Perai Utara, Seberang Perai Tengah and Seberang Perai Selatan), and Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Manjung, Perak Tengah, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim).

Other affected locations on the west coast are Pahang (Bentong, Temerloh and Bera), Negri Sembilan (Jelebu and Jempol), and Johor (Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru).

Sarawak’s Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman and Betong, as well as Sabah’s Sandakan, will also experience bad weather.

A thunderstorm warning is issued when rain intensity is predicted to exceed 20 mm per hour. – April 27, 2024
