KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has new information on the whereabouts of Datuk Seri Muhammad Adlan Berhan, the son-in-law of former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said Adlan’s location was detected from credit card transactions.

The anti-graft agency is now seeking cooperation from Interpol to track down Adlan, who is wanted here to facilitate investigations into alleged corruption involving a ministry’s biometric system on migrant workers.

“There is new information on his whereabouts from our monitoring of his use of his credit card. He has been in several countries and we are requesting Interpol’s help to trace him,” Azam was quoted as saying by Berita Harian in Gua Musang, Kelantan, today.

He also said the MACC was investigating Adlan with the purpose of charging him in court.

In August last year, Adlan through his lawyer said he would return to Malaysia as soon as possible to answer all questions and assist the MACC in its probe.

However, Azam today said the MACC had received no further information from Adlan nor his lawyer.

The MACC is also looking for Mansoor Saat, a lawyer, director and shareholder of NERS Sdn Bhd, to assist in investigations into the same matter. – April 25, 2024
