KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has advised the public against uploading or spreading videos of the incident.
In a statement, it said internet and social media users should demonstrate greater sensitivity and respect towards the families of the victims who are currently grieving over the incident.
“If found guilty of spreading the video of the incident, actions will be taken under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
“If such videos have already been uploaded, please delete them,” it said.
Earlier today, two Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) helicopters crashed following a mid-air collision over the Lumut naval base in Perak.
All 10 crew members on board both helicopters were killed.
The helicopters collided in mid-air during a flypast training for RMN’s 90th anniversary celebration.
The RMN said it has established an investigation board to investigate the crash.
MCMC also expressed sympathy and extended condolences to the families of the victims involved in the crash. – April 23, 2024
