Cops to seek remand order for KLIA shooter Hafizul Harawi tomorrow

Bukit Aman CID chief says application will be presented to Kota Bharu magistrates’ court, press conference will be held around 9am

KUALA LUMPUR – Police are looking to secure a remand order against Hafizul Harawi, the primary suspect in the recent shooting incident at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1. 

Bukit Aman criminal investigation department director Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said the application will be presented at the Kota Bharu magistrates’ court.

“We are currently in the process of questioning the suspect, who remains in good health since his arrest,” Shuhaily said. 

All pertinent details will be disclosed to the media tomorrow with the press conference scheduled for 9am, he said. 

Earlier today, police confirmed the arrest of the suspect in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, following a national manhunt for the individual who had targeted his estranged wife in the shooting on Sunday morning (April 14). – April 15, 2024
